MAP Elections and General Body Meeting
Dear Brothers/Sisters,
The elections and the General Body Meeting for Muslim Association for Greater Pittsburgh will be held on April 20th 2013 after Magrib prayer at the masjid. The meeting will begin sharp at 8:30 pm. Tea and light snacks will be provided.

The following people can NOT be nominated as they hold existing positions either in the Board or EC and their positions are not up for elections this year: Br. Imtiaz Ahmed, Br. Saleem Ahmed, Br. Usman Chaudhry, Br. Muddassar Ali, Br. Ishfaq Ahmad and Sr. Shameem Gangjee
According to MAP bylaws (Article X)
Who can nominate?
All Active MAP members who have paid their dues on or before December 31st , 2012
Who is eligible to run for office?
All MAP members who have been active for the last one year (12 months), paid their dues on or before December 31st, 2012 and who are residents of North Hills.
Who can vote on April 20, 2013?
All Active MAP members who have paid their dues on or before December 31st, 2012.
Election committee will contact those who received two nominations to check their availability for office and announce the names of those who accepted the nominations by April 5th , 2013.
Self nominations will not be accepted.
Only brothers and sisters who are eligible to hold an office and who received two nominations will end up on the election ballot.
A candidate can be nominated for more than one position; however, s/he has to accept running for one position only.
Officers leaving the office at term expiration can be re-nominated for the next term.

The Executive Council is responsible of day to day activities, operations, and employees of MAP (if any).
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the long term planning of MAP, setting up long term goals and objectives, approval of budget proposed by the EC and managing the assets of MAP.
